Gillette was acquired by Procter &
Gamble in 2005 for $57 billion. The combined companies will create

The company was founded in 1901 by King
Camp Gillette who developed the first safety razor, which had
a disposable blade to prevent getting cuts. The company he formed
was known as American Safety Razor before being renamed after
himself.
