Bright Horizons Family Solutions is the
world's leading provider of employer-sponsored child care, back-up
care, early education, and work/life solutions.
Bright Horizons manages more than 600 child
care centers in the U.S., Canada and Europe for many of the world's
leading corporations, hospitals, universities, and government
agencies. All of the child care centers are designed to meet
the standards of excellence set by the National Association for
the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
In addition, the company provides back-up
care solutions for children and elders, college counseling services,
and an array of other work/life solutions for working families.
Bright Horizons Family Solutions was acquired
by private equity firm Bain Capital Partners in May 2008 for
$1.3 billion. It is no longer publicly traded.

Revenue for 2007 was $774.6 million and
net income of $39.1 million.
History
Linda Mason, chairman and founder, co-founded
Bright Horizons in 1986 with her husband, Roger Brown, and a
small team of committed parents in Cambridge, MA, and served
as president until becoming chairman of Bright Horizons Family
Solutions in July 1998.
