Founded in 1948, Brandeis is the only nonsectarian Jewish-sponsored college or university in the nation. It is located on 235 acres in the Boston suburb of Waltham.

The university is named after Louis Dembitz Brandeis, the distinguished associate justice of the United States Supreme Court.

Brandeis has 3,051 undergraduate students and 1,346 graduate students representing 46 states and 101 countries. Females make up 54% of the student body and minorities 16%.

The university has 96 buildings and an endowment of $400 million. There are 326 full-time faculty and 139 part-time.

Tuition for undergraduate students is $31,072 per year. Room and board is an additional $8,836. 70% of undergrads receive some form of financial aid.
